Economic Briefing

The Iloilo Business Club in partnership with the Iloilo City Government

recently held a seminar entitled Economic Briefing 2008: Challenging Times, Discovering Opportunities on October 10, 2008 they will be discussing things that might affect our country in the U.S Financial turmoil which greatly affects the whole world.

The Economic Briefing featured the presentation of Dr. Emil Antonio of the University of Asia and the Pacific on Macro Economics Highlights especially on financial crisis, VAT rising cost of commodity, and the regional situation er from a select of panel of Regional Directors with a direct stake on the business sector.

Mr. Francisco Colayco, a famous author and financial expert also talk on a novelty topic on financial literacy.

Our Entrepreneurship class required us to have a business plan as one of the requirement for our finals. I'm sleepy but I really have to finish my work. I'm not done studying my Business Law yet :( I'm stressing myself now I have headache again. I still be waking up early morning tomorrow to go to school.

Our proposed business is a Hotel, and we are assign to study the business potential of the new Iloilo Airport of International Standard located in Cabatuan. Its a place not developed yet but as of now I can see that everybody is also doing their study about the place. When our group visited the area we already saw two gasoline station one is now operating and the other is just about to finish its construction.
Upon entering the area of the airport their is also one building being constructed. We first headed to Air Transportation Office to meet their Head Administration and ask for permission to visit and roam around the area luckily we were allowed but only on the outside lobby since the offices inside is strictly for employees only. Plus that time all of the Airport is under red alert due to the still on going war in Mindanao. We spend at least one whole day trying to complete all the necessary requirement that the municipality is requiring and guess what we did it! But our major problem now is one of our member who is assign in doing the financial plan is having a big big problem solving all those numbers and the hard part on that it should be balance. Presentation would start tomorrow at 3:30pm Good luck for my group now!
